There Must Be A Santa Claus

Someone affiliated with the Trail Riders of Southern Arizona made an anonymous donation to the East Santa Cruz County Community Food bank in Patagonia some days after our event There Will Be Dust IX. I received acknowledgement of this extremely generous donation just yesterday from the Manager of the Food Bank, Jim Staudacher. In his email to me he wrote. GREAT NEWS TO SHARE

As the result of a very successful There Will Be Dust IX, TRS is pleased to announce a donation will be made to the East Santa Cruz County Community Food Bank located in Patagonia in the amount of $2,600! There Will Be Dust 2021 News

The TRS’ There Will Be Dust Planning Team is currently working on preparations for this year’s event. The Team expects to have on-line registration open come late September.Some Important Facts for This Year’s Event:• Event date, Saturday November 20th• Staging in the town of Patagonia• Registration will be conducted on-line• All routes will require bikes with a street legal license tag • The event is Sanctioned by the AMA• AMA membership is not required • The event is permitted with the USFS• AMA Insurance Liability Waiver forms, rider information sheets, route tracks and rider number information will be emailed to you after registering on-line• Lunch and dinner meals will be provided as part of your entry fee• A raffle party…

Red Spring Trail – Very Green

You may have heard it has been raining on and off since late July. It’s true. Well I can tell you without hesitation, it has done wonders for the desert. Here are some photos from the ride Saturday. The single track has been invaded by tall grasses. Several times we had to stop to be sure we were on the trail. We rode up Rob’s trail, the long hillside single track. Normally that takes about 10 minutes or so to complete. Well today the grasses were so thick – making it difficult to move forward and see the trail, not to mention a bit of fear we might be dropping off the steep down hill side, YIKES! Anyway it took…
