On 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟔, six TRS members joined representatives from 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 & 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐎𝐇𝐕 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐥𝐲!, and 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 at the Red Spring Single Track Trail System. The goal? To film an exciting TV segment for 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 showcasing dirt biking safety, etiquette, and the sheer joy of trail riding!🎥 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬:Our riders hit the trails as the film crew captured dynamic footage of safe and responsible dirt biking. On 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, TRS Treasurer 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐤 and President 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐖𝐲𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐥 proudly presented a $𝟑,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 to the 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐨. Trail Riders of Southern Arizona (TRS) hosted “There Will Be Dust XII” on Saturday November 23, 2024. The event was held in Amado Arizona.TWBD XII, a recreational trail ride raising funds for the local Community Food Bank of Amado, was staged at the Amado Territory with 136 riders attending. Various routes were available. Some routes took the riders toward Mount Hopkins, to Lake Arivaca, and beyond. Others traversed dirt roads and trails in the Tumacacori Mountain areas. The hardiest riders took on the single-track trails of the Red Spring Trail system.Lunch was served out on the trail, followed by dinner that evening at the Longhorn Grill and Saloon, and the evening finished off with desert and multiple raffle prizes. In early October, Arizona became the 24th state to establish an office of outdoor recreation. The Arizona Office of Tourism and Arizona State Parks and Trails spent several months making the office a reality. The office will focus on Environmental Conservation and stewardship, education and workforce development, economic development, exercise, health and wellness, equity, access, and inclusion. It will receive support and coordination from the Office of Tourism. “Arizona is known as a destination with amazing outdoor recreation options,” said Neil Large, the new program administrator. “We want people to understand that outdoor recreation benefits the state’s economy, job market, and rural communities. Bicycle Race Coming to San Manuel 🚴‍♀️On November 9 & 10, the UA Miner ‘Cross SWCCC + AZ Championship US Cycling event will take place in San Manuel, with 50-60 riders expected each day. The race course will cross a small section of our moto trails, primarily near the mini course area.The proposed staging area is Gardner Middle School. Please plan accordingly if you’re out on the trails that weekend!
