TRS April Meeting Highlights – April 8, 2025

Big thanks to everyone who made it out to the club meeting at AZKKT! Here are some of the key takeaways:

 Awards & Recognition

• AMRA Trophy Awards went to Garett Comer and Steve Hollander
• AMA Service Award was presented to Mike Cook
• AMA Safety Award went to Chuck Ivy

 Copper Classic Recap

• 202 Big Bikes and 40 Minibikes competed!
• Overall racer feedback from the AMRA survey was positive, with appreciation for how well-organized the event was.
• Mixed opinions on the race format.
• Some C-class racers noted issues with the shared finish/scoring setup—they had to yield to A and B class riders at the scoring tower.
• Financials would have ended in the red without strong support from sponsors and grants.
• Donations will be made April 15:
  –  $5,000 to San Manuel Schools
  –  $2,000 to the San Manuel Fire Department

 Club Roles & Volunteers

• Secretary position is open – Joey Rosas is stepping down. Interested? Let us know!
• T-shirt & Sticker Inventory: Tim McGuire is passing the torch to Adam McCreight (thanks, Adam!) on a 6-month trial basis.

  Upcoming Events

• Royal Enfield Demo Days @ CSA – April 11 & 12
  TRS will be there April 12 to connect with fellow riders. Free food & drinks—swing by!
• Big Bike Prescott Camping Trip – April 25–28
• Rider Appreciation Day & Dirt Bike Rodeo – Possibly May 3 at the JWJ Motorcycle Museum (TBD)
• Flagstaff Camp & Ride – Mid-May or Early June (planning underway)
• Colorado Trip – Late July
• Trail Advocacy – TRS will meet with USFS Sierra Vista & Nogales districts to push forward open single-track proposals.
