TRS Club Meeting Highlights

• Had another nice turn out, 29 members on hand.
• On Any Moto’s Josiah Brennan and his crew once again welcomed us to use their Off-Road building for our meeting.
• Watched single-track videos from the Red Spring Trail and Patagonia.
• TRS’ grant application to fund the installation of information kiosk at the Red Spring Trail trailhead will be reviewed by the Arizona State Parks & Trails Off-Highway Advisor Group on September 27th.
• There Will Be Dust X registration is open, a discount for TRS members is available. Registration closes on Nov. 15th. Seeking additional TRS volunteers to support this event.
• TRS is seeking approval to use private property owned by BHP Copper for the 2023 Copper Classic. TRS will attend a meeting in San Manuel on Sep. 24th to seek support from the community and Pinal County of this plan.
• Gary Meeker shared a report of the projects TRS is currently working with the Coronado National Forest, USFS.
o The Nogales Ranger District is reviewing the proposed routes of Red Spring Phase 2 for any archeological concerns.
o Red Spring Trail Information kiosk as mentioned above.
o The Sierra Vista Ranger District is scheduled to begin review of TRS’ Patagonia single-track proposal in the 4th quarter of this year.
o Santa Catalina District (this District includes Redington Pass) does not have any active or potential for future single-track projects. Their current comprehensive trail plan does not include any mention of motorized trail development. TRS will be meeting soon with the District Ranger and members of his staff to discuss corrective actions to mitigate moto rider conflicts with the gun enthusiasts target practicing near or on trails.
• Several tech tips were presented.
• An On Any Moto 15% discount card was distributed to those in attendance. Bring the card into the shop to get the discount good for part, accessories, and tires.
• Heads up, for an announcement of a November Redington Pass trash clean-up day.
• The next club meeting could include a dirt bike swap meet.
