DESCRIPTION:Event is being planned by TRS members Rick Ogas and JD Smith: \n\n\n\nClub members Jd Smith\, Moto Ryan\, another friend and I are doing a big bike Adventure ride Fri 9/9 thru Sun 9/11. We’re staying in a hotel in Alpine Fri night and at Cherry Creek Ranch in Young on Saturday night. Tal Wiwi Lodge in Alpine might still have rooms available for Fri if you book now. We have capacity for 2 more at Cherry Creek on Sat night. You can also camp. I’m going to add in Willow Springs for Sunday but this is pretty much the route. I’ve never ridden Rock House Road (east of Cherry Creek trail) so difficulty unknown. Used to be big bike friendly\, but one monsoon can change that. Let me know if you want to join. Kickstands up at Circle k on Tanque Verde Fri at 8am. DESCRIPTION:The Coronado National Forest has arranged to have a professional trail maintenance crew available this coming week to perform some improvement work to the Red Spring Trail. We can participate by providing insight from a dirt bike rider’s perspective and do some light duty brush trimming while they do the heavy lifting. Granted\, this is late notice and mid week work\, but there is a growing list of retired members who might have time to commit to this effort. \n\n\n\nDetails from Gary Meeker.TRS\, come join the ACE (Arizona Conservation Experience) trail building/maintenance crew to perform some Red Spring Trail maintenance. Date: Wednesday Feb. 9th.  \n\n\n\nTime: 8:00 AM\, RTR \n\n\n\nLocation: Meet at the Hunters Parking area  \n\n\n\nBring your bike\, riding gear and brush trimming tools. This effort will be spread over at least 3 days. The ACE crew will be working on a spot North of Coyote Well on 482. This first day the ACE crew probably won’t be doing much work\, just scouting the work and meeting with George and Gary on the work we would like done. SUMMARY:Red Spring Trail Trash Clean Up Day
DESCRIPTION:Place: The Red Spring Trail system in the Tumacacori Mountains on the west side of I-19 near Tubac Az. \n\n\n\nWhere Will We Meet? At the Official Red Spring Trail Staging area\, just off Forest Service Road # 684. This Staging area is about 4 miles in from the I-19 West Side Frontage Road access point. Some like to park at the Hunters Access parking area a few hundred yards in from the Frontage Road rather than driving all the way to the RST Staging area. The choice is yours but be at the RST Staging area by 9am. \n\n\n\nWhat do you bring? Your riding gear\, bike\, hydration pack and a snack. \n\n\n\nWhat will we do? Have a quick Safety Meeting with the Forest Service and issue working supplies. Ride our bikes to the trail spots in need of our attention. Pick up trash left along designated Red Spring Trail routes by visitors to this area. Drop the filled trash bags along the main roads for the Forest Service to collect in their trucks. \n\n\n\nAlong with Trail Riders of Southern Arizona\, the USFS\, Nogales Ranger District will be supporting this effort. Here is a chance to give back to your sport\, please consider joining us.

The loops will have a leader and sweep riderMight have a late lunch at the Longhorn.\n\n\n\nMost everyone will stage in Amado near the Longhorn. There is a parking area about a mile south of Amado and the Longhorn Saloon & Grill for riders that don’t have a street legal bike.Loop DescriptionsAdventure Loop: Starts in Amado and takes the frontage roads south to Rio Rico\, then west on Ruby Rd (this is a maintained dirt road) to Arivaca\, then pavement back to Amado. About 85 miles.Easy Dirt Bike Loop:Starts in Amado and goes south on the frontage road about 1 mile and turns on to a dirt road headed south. FSR 684. bypassing all the technical trails. Eventually getting on single track in the Coyote Corral area\, 482 south. 482 is one of the easier single-track trails in the Red Spring system\, it still has a few tricky spots\, but they are short. Part of 483 also included in the loop. Kind of backtrack to Amado. Around 40 miles total.Hard Dirt Bike Loop: Starts in Amado and goes south on the frontage road about 1 mile and turns on to a dirt road headed south. FSR 684. Doing pretty much every trail in the Red Spring area\, including Maximus Rockus\, Goat Trail\, Gary’s Goofy Switchbacks\, Geo’s Ocotillo Forest\, Rob’s\, Lava Rock\, etc. Around 45 miles. Difficulty note\, this is way tougher than the A loop of TWBD.See you on the trail!!

DESCRIPTION:QUIK MART 13142 E Colossal Cave Rd\, Vail\, AZ 85641Meeting up at 8:00 AM \n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a big bike ride around part of the Sky Islands route. The first 140 miles is on pavement\, then dirt over to Rio Rico\, a little more pavement\, then Ruby Rd to Arivaca. Then home on pavement. Over 300 miles. This is not a beginner ride (due to length)\, but I would rate it as pretty darn easy. Just a lot of miles at a brisk pace (won’t exceed the speed limits by much). Might add some side trips depending on time.
