SUMMARY:Red Spring Introduction Ride\, Sunday 2/18/2024
DESCRIPTION:Message From Gary Meeker — \n\n\n\nThis will be a guided exploration of some of the easier trails in the Red Spring system of trails led by TRS members. All are welcome with the following requests\, experience with riding a dirt bike off road\, bike in good working order\, OHV sticker\, Spark Arrestor\, reasonably quiet. You don’t need to be fast. Your bike does not need to be street legal. \n\n\n\nStay tuned\, the weather could turn bad\, resulting in us having to cancel the event. Should have a good idea by 2/15. \n\n\n\nThe loop will be about 30 miles in length. A mix of FS dirt roads and single-track trails. \n\n\n\nThere will be a few mildly technical spots\, but TRS members will be there to help if needed. \n\n\n\nAll will meetup at the FS Staging area which is about 4 miles in on 684 at 10:00\, Ready to Ride. Riders will then be split up into groups with TRS members to lead and sweep. Expect to be riding for about 3 hours. \n\n\n\nParking\, if you have a State Trust Land permit you can park just off the frontage road or at many of the places along 684 leading up to the FS Staging area. Or transport your bike all the way to the FS Staging area. \n\n\n\nWhy? Because TRS and the Forest Service wants to get riders out enjoying this trail system and more riders using the trails means the possibility of getting more miles of trails. \n\n\n\nDirections: \n\n\n\nI 19\, exit 40 Chavez Siding Road. Head north on the west frontage road about .3 miles. Left onto the dirt road. There is a parking area about .1 miles in on 684 and many other places along 684 to park. You need a State Trust Land Permit to park anywhere along the first 3 miles of 684. The FS Staging area is about 4 miles in on 684.  \n\n\n\nMaps of the area are free in Avenza here. https://store.avenza.com/collections/trail-riders-of-southern-arizona We will be following the Red Spring Loop\, kind of.

DESCRIPTION:Looking for a strong turnout to mark the Copper Classic racecourse with ribbon\, caution tape and wood stakes for the course signage (arrows\, danger\, wrong way\, mile marker and course worker safety spotter). \n\n\n\nTRS has all the marking supplies and tools needed. If you have a favorite staple gun or hammer\, feel free to bring it along. You will need your bike\, riding gear and a small pack to carry some supplies with you.  \n\n\n\nDepending on how many volunteers show up to help\, we can have multiple work crews. Our typical mode of operation is to divide up the supplies among the crews. We then head out on the course and leapfrog the crews as we work. This means we all don’t all stop together to mark a section. One crew stops\, the others move ahead to the next section to be marked.  \n\n\n\nWe are planning for both Saturday and Sunday. If we finish on Saturday\, we can still come out and trail ride but not on the racecourse. \n\n\n\nDates: Saturday March 4 & Sunday March 5 \n\n\n\nLocation: The old Gardner Middle School parking lot. Address: 708 S Ave D \n\n\n\nGPS 32.596\, -110.627 \n\n\n\nTime: 8:30am – 1:00PM

SUMMARY:Adventure Ride
DESCRIPTION:Event is being planned by TRS members Rick Ogas and JD Smith: \n\n\n\nClub members Jd Smith\, Moto Ryan\, another friend and I are doing a big bike Adventure ride Fri 9/9 thru Sun 9/11. We’re staying in a hotel in Alpine Fri night and at Cherry Creek Ranch in Young on Saturday night. Tal Wiwi Lodge in Alpine might still have rooms available for Fri if you book now. We have capacity for 2 more at Cherry Creek on Sat night. You can also camp. I’m going to add in Willow Springs for Sunday but this is pretty much the route. I’ve never ridden Rock House Road (east of Cherry Creek trail) so difficulty unknown. Used to be big bike friendly\, but one monsoon can change that. Let me know if you want to join. Kickstands up at Circle k on Tanque Verde Fri at 8am. Gas availability range is no better than shown on map. \n\n\n\nLink to Map: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=18Xlyp7Sm14g_qpVrjYw3K574I2dxlmU&g_ep=CAESCTExLjQ0LjkwMxgA&shorturl=1&ll=33.31884316375278%2C-110.07775889709592&z=8
