SAN MANUEL COPPER CLASSIC

Campfires must be completed contained in a fire ring or equivalent.

As you arrive at the “Front Door”, please sign the AMA Insurance Liability Waiver and pay the $10 camp fee if you plan to camp overnight.

If you are not familiar with the Copper Classic race campus layout ask for direction at the Front Door.

Registration & Check-In: In front of the main entrance to the school building.

Tech Inspection: Is located past the Registration & Check-In area, follow the parking lot road to the chain link fence adjacent to the Big Bike race starting field.

Race DetailsAn AMRA and AMA sanctioned event. All racers including Mini’s must possess AMRA & AMA memberships. Hare Scramble race format. Dead engine starts, except Mini Race 1. Transponders will be used for all races. Temporary AMRA numbers available at Registration, $10. AMRA Big Bike Classes & Divisions as listed in the AMRA Supplemental Rule Book. AMRA bike number plates are required.


C Race, 2 laps ~1.5 hours, course length ~12 miles. Checkered flag for everyone when the first C finishes 2 laps. Gas Pits available.


AA / A / B Race, 4 laps ~2.0 hours, course length ~15 miles. Checkered flag comes out for everyone when the first AA finishes 4 laps. Gas Pit available. No pre-running the racecourse, no jetting loop, come prepared. Elevation is ~3500’.

Fees: Pre-registration available from February.12th to March 5th. (http://www.amraracing.com).
Big Bike $80 pre, day of race $95. Minis $35 pre and day of race.
Transponders: $10. AMA & AMRA memberships available at the event. NO CHECKS ACCEPTED AT REGISTRATION – CASH, VENMO or ZELLE accepted.

No Gate fees. Camping fee is $10 per vehicle, Cash only for camping fee.

Tech Inspection & Check In Hours

Friday March 8th, 4:00-8:00 pm.

Saturday March 9th 6:00-10:30 am. Mini racers close at 7:30am.

Mini Tech & Check-in at Registration close at 7:30am Saturday.

To race must have an USFS approved spark arrestor, pass a sound test 96dba, have a hydration system, kill switch, helmet compliant with AMA standards, Goggles (no tear-offs). Chest protector for Youth racers. No refund for failing.

Riders Meetings & Race Start Times:

Mini Racers Race 1- Riders meeting on Saturday March 9th at 8:15am at the Mini Start area. Racing starts at 8:30am. A live engine start. Course length 1.5 miles. A flag at 30 minutes, Grand Prix finish.

Mini Racers Race 2- Riders meeting on Saturday March 9th at 9:15am at the Mini Start area. Racing starts at 9:30am. A dead engine start. Course length ~7.5 miles. A flag at 45 minutes, Grand Prix finish 

Mandatory Big Bike racer meeting Saturday March 9th at 11:15 am. Location is near the Registration & Check-in area.

Big Bike C race starts at Noon Saturday March 9th. Big Bike A&B race starts at 2:00pm.

Adjustments to start times for all races subject to change. Any time changes will be announced prior to race day.

Mini Race GroupingsRace: 1 All 50cc (4-8), 65cc (7-9). Race 2: 65cc (10-11), 65cc – 85cc (11-14) Girls, 85cc (9-11), 85cc (12-14), Supermini (9 -16).

Safety:

No pit bikes, ATV’s or Side by Sides allowed on the race campus, race bikes only. 

No Pit riding and course cutting will result in a DQ.

Quiet Hours 10pm – 6am Friday March 9th. (especially generators, music, & bikes) 

A spectator area will be set up to view the Big Bike race start. Spectators must stay behind the safety barriers and follow instructions provided by TRS race personnel.

Any racer who DNF’s for any reason or receives medical attention or is injured while on the racecourse must report back to the Registration area after returning to the race campus.

No one is allowed past the school building perimeter walls or fence, except during the BB Riders meeting.

No dirt bikes allowed in the Big Bike spectator area.

No spectators are allowed in the Race Start Line, Endurocross lane, Log Hop, Pit Row or Finish Check/Scoring areas. Spectators must stay completely outside the safety barriers in these areas. 

Only racers and a Pit Crew members are allowed in Pit Row upon racer’s arrival.

Any violations by a racer or someone associated with a racer of the above Safety list is subject to a racer being DQ’d or issued a minimum 5-minute scoring time penalty.

Directions to San Manuel– Highway 77 to S. Veterans Memorial Blvd, go East ~6 miles, turn right onto McNab Street then to Erickson at the “T “intersection turn left and go about a half mile to the staging area.
